The Hellenistic temple of Apollo is called Didymus by the Greeks and is located in the present town of Didim in Turkey. Its dimensions are impressive (110 m long and 52 wide, approximately) with a double Ionic colonnade of 120 columns making it the third largest of the Greek world. It is one of the great buildings of antiquity, but work trailed over 150 years until the Roman era. Then the advent of Christianity ended the worship of Apollo. Around the 15th century, an earthquake will ruin the temple.
