Less than three hours by plane from Paris, Morocco and Berber culture. The High Atlas near Marrakech offers large spaces of nomadism. The narrowest part of the massif with very deep valleys is never very far from the summit of the Toubkal (4167 m) which dominates the plain of Marrakech.
Arrival in Marrakech :
A very eventful city in ocher colors with many monuments, gardens and palaces, but also museums.
Departure of the Trek :
Day 1: Departure from Marrakech by minibus to Imlil (1,700 m). Our clothes has been loaded on mules and we finish this day by a short walk under age old walnut trees, to reach our first accommodation in Berber country. Dinner and overnight stay at home Brahim.
Day 2: Breakfast on the terrace, before exploring the riches of this valley. Watermill, traditional irrigation, villages in stone, are all reasons to travel this valley. Lunch and dinner at home Brahim. 2 to 4 hours of walking.
3rd day: Loading of our luggage on mules and departure for the pass of Tamatert (2,279 m). The climb by a winding path leads to the pass, with a beautiful panorama over the valley of Imnane. Arrival at the lodge of Ikkis. 4 hours walk.
4th day: Amsakrou (1,800 m) welcomes us and by a beautiful mule trail evolving in an ocher decoration, we pass a pass (2,200 m) to join the upper valley of Oussertek. Night at the inhabitant. 5 hours walking.
5th day: From Gliz and Agadir to 1 900 m, we descend in stages through Tidili (1,750 m) and then Tinoughâr (1,600 m) to find in the middle of the afternoon the valley of Imnane. Dinner and night in the village of Imsker (1,400 m). 4 hours of walking.
6th day: Two hours of walking among the fields of apple trees, we rejoin the village of Asni (lunch) where we find the minibuses for the return on Marrakech. Overnight at hotel or riad, before returning to France the next day.
